In this journal club we discussed the mapping of neural networks in the brain as described in the Quanta article Mapping the Brain to Build Better Machines. We also discussed Hinton's article A fast learning algorithm for Deep Belief Nets and the similarities between actual neural networks in the brain and neural networks in machine learning.
This journal club took place on Thursday, 02/02/17 between 12-1pm in the XY-Café.
Number of attendees: 8. Jenny brought pastries. The paper and article were suggested
by Paul.
The next journal club is scheduled for Thursday the 16th of February.
